Windows Server 2008 Spotlight: Terminal Services Manager
There's nothing especially glamorous about Windows Server 2008 R2, but, then again, IT departments aren't looking for glamour. They're looking for security, reliability, and helpful features. TechRepublic's Scott Lowe recently took a look at one of those features: the new-and-improved Terminal Services Manager. Actually, this is more than just an overview of what's changed; Lowe explains how to run TSM and walks you through every aspect of the interface. Here's an excerpt: In Figure A, you see an image of the Terminal Services Manager in Windows Server 2008, which is broken into three distinct panes. The left-hand pane provides a navigation area that allows you to choose the server you'd like to manager. In the middle of the screen is the work pane, which shows information based upon your selection in the navigation pane. At the right-hand side of the screen is the Actions pane, which is now present in all of Microsoft's new management tools. In short, this is a handy tutorial for IT managers and staffers who aren't yet familiar with the Windows Server 2008 R2 version of Terminal Services Manager. Give it a look. |
