New Group Policy Features in Windows Server 2008 R2

Group Policy WS08 R2.jpg

Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 don't add a ton of new Group Policy features--most of the good stuff has been carried over from Vista and Server 2008, which introduced some "killer" improvements--but they do bring a few amenities to the table.

That's according to 4sysops' Michael Pietroforte, who introduces the small but significant new Group Policy features in Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2. Here's an excerpt:

Windows PowerShell Cmdlets for Group Policy I think, the new PowerShell Group Policy cmdlets are the most important enhancement in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. You could already manage Group Policy before Windows 7 with PowerShell. A more convenient option are the free cmdlets from SDM Software. You should also check out their Group Policy Automation Engine, which supports scripting of many more policy areas.

Be sure to check out the five-minute video that spotlights the new ADMX Migrator settings and interface. Good stuff!
