How to Audit User Accounts in Windows Server 2008 R2
Among Windows Server 2008 R2's many fantabulous features is a Group Policy option that lets administrators audit status changes to user accounts. Over at ZDNet Asia, TechRepublic's Rick Vanover explains the audit feature and shows how to use it. Here's an excerpt: One Group Policy configuration that may be useful is the User Account Management Audit Policy. This policy allows user account audits for events, including object being changed, created, deleted, renamed, enabled, and disabled, password changes, permissions assignment changes, and other actions. It's a quick and easy read, definitely worthwhile for IT pros who are just getting underway with R2. In the meantime, check out these related posts: |
