Windows 7 Spotlight: Search
Think Windows 7 lacks a "killer feature"? Think again. That's exactly how ZDNet's Ed Bott describes the operating system's new Search Builder tool, which "replaces the clunky search forms from earlier versions and allows you to filter a results set by date, type, size, or an attribute that's appropriate to a particular type of data such as music or photos." Want to see it in action? Ed walks you through all of Windows 7's search features in this video, which runs just over two minutes: Of course, many of Windows 7's search capabilities made their debut in Vista, and we always thought that was one of the OS's best, and most underrated, assets. But as you can see in the video, search gets even better in Windows 7. While that's not such a big deal for IT departments, it's sure to make users very, very happy. (It'll also result in way fewer "I can't find my document!" support calls.) More Windows 7 Spotlight goodness: |
