Windows 7 Spotlight: BranchCache

Last week we looked at App Locker, a Windows 7 feature that lets IT managers control which programs a user or set of users is allowed to run.

Today let's turn our attention to BranchCache, which caches content from remote file and Web servers in branch locations so that users can more quickly access this information. Here's a four-minute video that explains it all:

Funny, when we first saw the term "BranchCache," we assumed it had something to do with a new performance-boosting memory technology or the like. But in reality it's built to help out actual branch offices. And we must admit, it sounds mighty cool.
