Bloggers Continue to Bash Vista Like Its 2007

Vista logo.jpgNote to bloggers, journalists, and everyone else with a keyboard: It's over. The Vista-bashing parade has ended, so get out of the street already. Calling the OS a "loser" or "lemon" at this point is a surefire way to embarrass yourself.

Kind of like InformationWeek's Dave Methvin did in his recent post, Why Vista Was a Loser, and Why Windows 7 Won't Be.

Guess it was a slow news day, as Methvin decided readers needed yet another trip down memory lane to explore why Vista stalled out of the starting gate. Apparently it had something to do with readiness:

Microsoft rushed Vista out the door before it was ready. Hardware vendors weren't ready. Software vendors weren't ready. Users weren't ready. Businesses weren't ready. By 2008 most of Vista's problems had been ironed out, but its reputation was already toast.

Really? Wow, we had no idea. To be fair, Methvin's main point is that Windows 7 should avoid most of the problems that dogged Vista. That's great, of course, but let's not forget that many of 7's best assets--security, stability, compatibility, etc.--derive from its Vista core.

In fact, if you look closely within Methvin's eye-rolling Vista diatribe, you'll find the one statement that's worth remembering: "Windows 7 owes a lot to Vista."

Oh My, they are still bashing Vista, well that is just not right, as a
dedicaqted user and belief in windows, I strongly urge dumping their grap operating system and going to Macintosh. Ok, windows 98 was a super rip off, and still haunts me and gives me bad dreams, but this vista grap, especially the 64 bit rip off, is across the line. They are not paying me to do the research and development on yet another one of their joke releases. But this! Oh man, is way over the line. Software now useless, or having to upgrade, I have incurred over $4300 in additional expense to upgrade software, to make it compatible with 64 bit joke. Windows ripped me off, plus they then have the unmetigatted nerve to charge me to tell them to shove in their ass.
