For months we've been advising enterprises to ditch Windows XP in favor of Vista (making sure to back it with sufficient hardware, of course). And in spite of non-stop headlines about Windows 7, it appears to be working: According to a new survey, Vista adoption grew four percent between July, 2008, and March, 2009.

"Users running IE6 or IE7 on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 are vulnerable to the drive-bys attacks, Microsoft said. Vista and Server 2008 are not at risk, however, nor are people running IE8, Microsoft's newest browser."

Ever wonder what Windows Vista has that XP doesn't? Or how Windows 7 improves on both? Sure, you can head over to Windows.com to see a comparison of the different versions of each individual OS, but rarely do we get to see the three stacked up side-by-side--and rarer still from an IT perspective.

Note to bloggers, journalists, and everyone else with a keyboard: It's over. The Vista-bashing parade has ended, so get out of the street already. Calling the OS a "loser" or "lemon" at this point is a surefire way to embarrass yourself.
