Download the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2010 Release Candidate

Remember MDT, the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit? It's designed to streamline the desktop and server deployment of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

Early last month we told you about the 2010 Beta 2 version of MDT, but as of now you can download the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2010 Release Candidate. (Note: You need to be a Microsoft Connect subscriber.)

What's new in the RC? Here's a quick rundown:

  • Access deployment shares from anywhere on the network and replicate files and settings across organizational boundaries or sites.

  • Organize and manage drivers, operating systems, applications, packages and task sequences with an improved UI.

  • Automate all UI functionality utilizing the new Windows PowerShell.
