Upgrading to Win7? Expert advice on what to keep in mind

What are the main concerns you should have as you consider an upgrade from Windows XP (or even Vista) to Windows 7?

Step into the dojo of IT guru Bill Detwiler (talk about a culturally mixed metaphor) in this video , where he covers three factors that must be taken into account when you're planning a migration: Hardware requirements, the OS upgrade path, and driver compatibility with existing devices. Bill discusses how much memory you'll need, how to ensure smooth migrations without losing your prior settings, and why driver issues are usually resolved with a little patience and cooperation with vendors.

The video is actually based on an earlier article by Debra Littlejohn Shinder. Debra goes into more detail on migration issues such as application compatibility, new hardware purchases, and choosing the right edition of Windows 7. It's definitely worth a look.
