How Pay-as-You-Go Broadband Could Save Mobile Workforces a Small Fortune
Most businesses these days have mobile workforces, and many of those workforces rely on wireless modems to stay connected while on the move. The technology's great, but there's one problem: It's expensive. Indeed, nearly every USB or PC Card modem you deploy requires another service contract with a wireless provider, usually to the tune of $60/month. So instead of paying a mandatory $60 per month per user, you might end up paying $10 or $20 per user, and only for those months when they actually require service. Needless to say, the savings could be considerable. Over at TechRepublic, systems admin Michael Kassner takes a closer look at the Broadband2Go option--and likes what he sees. It may not be perfect for every organization, but it's definitely worth a look. |
